The next time you board a flight or hop on a train don’t forget that your best friend will be your water bottle! Traveling can be the culprit in dehydration, jet lag, exhaustion, thirst and leg cramping but drinking an adequate amount of water can help reduce the negative effects that travel can bring. In addition water helps to flush out and clean your internal organs and this is particularly important  while you are traveling through new places around new people.

Drinking half your weight in ounces is recommended daily but before, during and after travel it is even more important to pound this pure and simple beverage a bit more. So if you weigh 150lbs you want to drink at least 75 ounces per day that’s roughly 9 – 8oz bottles per day or a minimum of a bottle an hour.

Start drinking a little bit more a day or so before you are scheduled to leave and then continue drinking day of travel as well as all of days into your trip. Pouring water into a spritz bottle can be a refreshing treat for your skin as the air can get dry while on a plane.

Keeping yourself well hydrated will benefit the look of your skin and lips, reduce the look of tired puffy eyes, prevent your throat from becoming dry and your ears from experiencing nagging discomfort.
Sounds like an easy thing to do right? But most people plan a trip and think about everything except – WATER.  Next time you travel add water into your plans!

*If you are traveling to places where water is of concern, please follow the    appropriate recommendations.
